Attenuating Muscle Damage Biomarkers and Muscle Soreness After Exercise-Induced Muscle Damage with BCAA Supplementation

CK improved only immediately and at 72 hours, soreness at 24–96 hours, and LDH never did. The timing-specific pattern and overlapping trials limit claims of broad recovery.

Oral Branched-Chain Amino Acids Supplementation in Athletes

Performance and body-composition benefits were negligible; soreness sometimes improved after resistance exercise and endurance findings were inconsistent. Most studies did not report total daily protein intake.

Some damage biomarkers and soreness were lower at selected time points, but muscle performance did not improve at 24 or 48 hours. Biomarker and soreness changes should not be described as faster functional recovery.
