Calcium, vitamin D, or combined supplementation to prevent fractures and falls

Across mostly community-dwelling adults not at high fracture risk, calcium alone or with vitamin D produced little to no clinically meaningful fracture or fall benefit.

Calcium Supplements and Risk of Cardiovascular Disease

Calcium plus vitamin D supplementation and the risk of fractures

Hip bone density improved slightly, but fractures did not fall significantly in intention-to-treat analyses and kidney stones increased. Already represented in the 2026 review totals.
