Inulin-induced improvements on bowel habit and gut microbiota in adults with functional constipation
Bowel frequency, abdominal symptoms, and parts of constipation-related quality of life improved, with microbiome changes. A carryover effect biased the crossover comparison; a first-period analysis supported benefit but reduced effective sample size and certainty.

Effectiveness of inulin intake on indicators of chronic constipation
Pooled results favored inulin for stool frequency, consistency, transit time, and hardness, but pain and bloating did not improve. The small evidence base and varying measures limit precision.
