The Role of Vitamin B6 in Peripheral Neuropathy

High B6 levels, usually associated with supplements, were linked to predominantly sensory axonal neuropathy and symptoms often improved after stopping. Evidence did not establish B6 monotherapy as a neuropathy treatment.

Vitamin B6, B12, and folic acid supplementation and cognitive function

The three B6 monotherapy trials found no overall cognitive benefit; combination trials also found no overall effect. Evidence was sparse, small, heterogeneous, and did not establish meaningful clinical outcomes.

Using pyridoxine to treat carpal tunnel syndrome

No outcome differed between pyridoxine and placebo. This small trial does not support pyridoxine for idiopathic carpal tunnel syndrome when deficiency is not established.

Vitamin B6 is effective therapy for nausea and vomiting of pregnancy

Severe nausea improved more with pyridoxine, while mild-to-moderate nausea and the overall group did not differ significantly. Fewer women reported vomiting after treatment, but the trial was small and short.
